Corporate lackies all over the world eagerly aniticipate weekends, long weekends, no-work holidays and such. While performing our day to day activities, initiatives, projects and others related to being a corporate lacky, we feel bombarded and inundated, friday nights, saturday and sunday's are the respite from all of these. This year's Labor day fell on a friday and so a 3 day weekend is very eagerly welcomed relief by all lackies.

On the other hand, I have on some occasions felt bored, dumb and worthless after just 3 days without work hahahaha, it happens specially when you are doing nothing. Work gives a sense of belonging and purpose, enhances self worth and gives pride. On some, while not all, no work days I find myself logging into my work mail or go to the office, tinker around and work some more.

Whether this is good or bad may depend on each persons perspective and belief, but it does make sense, as I had advocated before, work and personal life is one and therefore intertwined, it is a balancing act and one both must move forward together.

One thing is also for sure, work hard as lackies and play twice as hard on holidays, harharhar..... !!!

A long weekend awaits us starting tomorrow, It's labor day weekend. Although most labor organizations and unions will be having activities more leaning to rallies and pickets, I will rest for a day. Being a corporate lacky means we work day in and day out, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so labor day is one of the reprieves we get.

Labor day is for us workers, this includes us corporate lackies, we are recognized, emphasized and given importance. The best way our government and employers can do this is to make it a non-working holiday. And so one day every year, on May 2, we have no work. Let's enjoy it.

Work hard and play hard also. Have a great labor day weekend everyone !
