Sights and Sounds of Singapore
This is my second post about my trip to Singapore, see first post here. On our Third day in Singapura, We bundled 6 tourist destinations in 1 day, we had to make up for lost time since our first day was dampened by a whole day of rain. The itinerary was Merlion, Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, Suntec City(Fountain of Wealth), Sentosa Island, Bugis. Seems like a lot for 1 day but with a lot of determination and walking, it is manageable.
Unofficial National Holiday
Today is a unoffical national holiday in the philippines, Today Manny Pacquiao fights Ricky Hatton for more than just a belt and a title, both will fight for National honor and pride.
No doubt, Manny is the National Hero of our time, Time stands still and everything stops, even fighting between Govt. forces, Abu Sayaf and NPA unofficially stops. Streets are almost empty and all eyes are glued to the TV.
Filipinos prepare for a Pacquiao fight weeks before, plans are set for group watching while restos and hotels sell live tickets with buffet. Today, There is no economic crisis, there is no crime, there is no traffic, today there is only Manny Pacquiao.
Good Luck to you Manny, today you carry the entire 80 million plus pride and hope of all Filipinos on your shoulders. We hold our breath with every punch you send to Hatton eagerly awaiting the knockout everybody premonitions to happen, we feel the pain with every hit you take from Hatton, distributing it among ourselves so you do not feel the pain.
As endless predictions, discussions and arguments occur among filipinos and boxing fans around the world, One thing is for sure, Manny has left and idelible mark in all of us, Manny has brougth peace in the Philippines and have and will bring Filipino pride to the peak of the world.
Labor Day
A long weekend awaits us starting tomorrow, It's labor day weekend. Although most labor organizations and unions will be having activities more leaning to rallies and pickets, I will rest for a day. Being a corporate lacky means we work day in and day out, 7 days a week, 24 hours a day, so labor day is one of the reprieves we get.
Labor day is for us workers, this includes us corporate lackies, we are recognized, emphasized and given importance. The best way our government and employers can do this is to make it a non-working holiday. And so one day every year, on May 2, we have no work. Let's enjoy it.

Using an Eeepc
My Mom was given an Eeepc 701 late last year as she needed it for her consultancy work. After poking around it for a while, I decided to keep the Linux OS and orient my mom with the bundled open office. Firefox was bundled as well.
World Graphics Design Day
Today is world graphic design day and to all my colleagues in the business, have a great day everyone ! Unfortunately, this event is not a not-working holiday in this part of the world, they should by the way and I would support any legislature to further this cause hahaha.
Being overloaded and feeling drowned
Lately, I am a bit overloaded and am feeling drowned with more work, circumstances and the world is conspiring to give me more and more load. As I am a deep thinker, strategizing and analyzing tactical business and career initiatives, this is a bit of a set back, I find myself unable to focus on the things I would like to do.
Better vantage point
Just like the world economy, my mood, passion, vigor and everything else has been on down trend, and just like the governments of the world, I tried all sorts of pump priming activities and initiatives. The world economy has seemed to bottom out and maybe I am also.
