Positive Distraction
In our very busy corporate lives performing our job objectives and routinary task, add emotional baggage accumulated emotions from the interactions we have with our colleagues and personal lives. It is therefore very important to once in a while have a positive distraction, an outlet or channel to vent it all out.
Mentors
It's so hard to find true mentors now a days, and to find one that fits and gels with is nearly impossible, I think it only comes ones in your life that you find a perfect fit for you, if a second one comes, then you are extremely lucky and the Lord probably thinks you need more mentoring.
Knowing what’s behind the curtain
Aside from what you see on during the day to day operations of an organization, meetings, presentation and company sponsored activities gives a fairly general view of the organizations people, culture, systems, procedures and health. However, if you really want to get a good grasp of the real situation, take a peek behind the curtain.
Three versions of what is true
An office colleague shared to me how one of our executives shed light on what the truth is. She liked it so much that she repeats it as often as she can get away with it (:p you know who you are). It did also strike me and I now believe in its context.
A Shrink in the Office
Just a couple of months ago, I was in one of the deepest episodes of my life and as I already posted before, I believe that personal and work life is one, I therefore asked our HR executive if we had a shrink in the company that I could talk to, bounce off and generally just listen. Sort of a guidance councilor in school.

in any organization, you will in sometime encounter a ass kisser, the goody two shoes who is always so close to the ears of the boss you'd think they were making out. But that is just a over exaggeration. In this post, I will try to classify, categorize or stereotype the kinds of ass kissers.

Continuous development is an integral part for the development of an organization, for a company is only as good as it's human resource is. Most companies engage in a yearly planning and budgeting activity for the long and short term. Most of the time, short term takes the front seat and included in this planning is budgeting for training's, seminars and other continuous learning activities.

Two of the most over-used and hyper-inflated terms currently used in corporate environments, I think innovation is number one and I will dedicate one whole post/article specifically for innovation as it very close to my heart. Communication and Collaboration is vital in any organization, even in relationships and in our own families. It is therefore not new for private corporations to set it's sights on these two to be capitalized.
