Food Sharing : Hor Fun from Good Day
One of my all time favorite food which I only discovered here in Singapore is Beef Hor Fun, the best one is in Amoy Food Centre. I can't recall what lead me to try their fare, it might have been the smell, not so much the looks but might be likely because of the snaking queue during lunch. Its also cheap.
Not until recently, the only thing I order is Beef Hor Fun, I don't know why I never bothered to try the other dishes. There are days when I say to myself that I will try something else but when time comes to order, my mouth just spurts out Beef Hor Fun like it has a mind of its own. Its a conscious but an unconscious and spontaneous snap of a finger decision come order time.
Each meal is also cooked when ordered so I always get the fresh, hot of the huge wok meal. Its also a joy to watch the uncle prepare and cook, it takes I think about 3 to 5 minutes and as I watch the systematic fluid movements executing a step-by-step process of making the best Hor Fun I awe and gawk at how uncle could always cook a consistent dish without even tasting it before serving. Is it the smell; Is it the looks? I just can't put my finger into it.
The past week, my colleague and I tried the fried Beef Hor Fun and as I looked at the dish the main difference is the green veg is out and the thick soup base as well, it was just fried with a lot of been sprouts and additional sambal chilli(I think). As I started eating, amazed at how wonderful it was, just as wonderful as the Beef Hor Fun. I found myself another comfort food.
At 4 bucks, you get a plateful which even if you have a big appetite would still fill you to the brim. Only open during lunch though, not sure about weekend.
