Building relationships among peers and colleagues is very important in a corporate setting. Building relationships with the vertical hierarchy is as important as well. Building strong and lasting relationships with trust as a foundation will enhance and strengthen communication and the working environment, this will also foster innovation, creativity, open mindedness and collaboration.
Furthermore, building relationships with your customer will also bring about better customer relations, brand recognition, customer satisfaction and will open new opportunities.

Once the relationship is built, constant re-enforcement must then be undertaken to make sure the relationship is kept strong.

Most of the time, outcome or product of the relationships built will be intangible or will be subjective, but co-related with productivity and other measurements, I am sure an upward positive trend will be clear.

A good relationship among colleagues and bosses will also ensure open communication lines which will lead to better working relationships and collaboration. Potential problems and challenges will also be easily detected and resolved.
