Willing to Travel ?
In the Job Application form, one of the questions was "are you willing to travel".... it was a no brainer question and I ticked the YES check box, after all not all companies regularly send their employees out, if they do, it will be very far apart from each other.
Well, I learned consider these questions seriously by experiencing it. Every now and then, our organization sends us to different parts of the country where our subsidiaries are, as well as for training. We cascade and implement our initiatives groupwide and we also take continous development seriously.
So, every now and then, I get to go to different parts of the country, but most it is in Makati. As a matter of fact, I will be departing in 4 hours time for a week long training for Implementation of Tivoli Request Management System at IBM plaza in Eastwood City.
It just so happens that I do like to travel and I enjoy absorbing all the new things I experience and learning from new acquintances. Other teams in our organization literally lives of a suitcase and criss-crosses the country, I am a bit glad our team has not yet reached that kind of situation.
So, leason learned here is to take all the questions in the job applicaiton seriously, as well as all the questions in the interview for that matter, if it is being asked, there will be a very high chance it will be what you should expect, always answer honestly and from the heart.
I'll update you guys how the training will go, I had to absorb a lot of procedures and technical details on how to implement Websphere Application Server and Tivoli aka Maximo.
