Three versions of what is true

An office colleague shared to me how one of our executives shed light on what the truth is. She liked it so much that she repeats it as often as she can get away with it (:p you know who you are). It did also strike me and I now believe in its context.

In any context there will always be two parties involved, so here are the versions of the truth

1.) Your Version of the Truth – from your perspective, yours is the only truth.

2.) My Version of the Truth – from my perspective, I am telling the truth.

3.) The Truth – The real truth lies in the middle of your version and my version.

Looking at it from another perspective brings down all the walls and makes the field flat. The truth in the middle is the compromise and this can only be achieved through acceptance that my version is probably not the real truth. With acceptance of my truth not being the only truth, the journey towards the real truth and towards a compromise is already achievable.

For what is more important that being right is living right and in balance, the truth in the middle is the compromise that will bring balance, for with this all parties can move forward, learn, develop and evolve.

I am more concerned of how to move forward than dwell in the past or what is not there, it is more appealing and productive for me to make results and I will thus focus on this more.
